KDMC rules out demolition of Mohan Regency, Kalyan
In a relief to the residents of Mohan Regency building in Kalyan, the civic body, KDMC has ruled out demolishing the building. Early last week, a probe found that the luxury complex was constructed on land usurped through a fake power of attorney. The KDMC had then cancelled the building plan and had started the process of filing FIRs against the developers.
The Managing Director of the Company had obtained the land for construction illegally. Mohan Regency was constructed in 2000 by producing fake land papers.
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has asked Vimal Shah to produce the power of attorney and agreements for the construction of the building.
Residents told that they have been living in the building since 15 years. In addition, they claimed the developer is the sole responsible to avoid any demolition drive by the civic body. After trying to communicate with the developer, residents had held a meeting on July 19 evening to decide the future course of action.
